Introduction

This is the story of my life so far. what happened when I was young, well as best I can remember, my teenage years, early adulthood and where I've landed up.

I've had an interesting life, flying, bungee-jumping, single parenting and all that goes with being single. I'm 57 now and am writing this for my children and any grandchildren that may, from my mouth to God's ears, come along. There are other people who will find this interesting too, Christians, single parents and young outsiders who are still making their way through the difficult years.
From what I've observed through the years we seem to have phases in our lives, childhood, teen years, twenties, thirties, forties and fifties. I haven't quite reached my sixties yet but am sure there are more phases yet to come. Each of those periods, in my experience, bring with them a certain learning curve, each is fraught with different difficulties and challenges and the next one isn't like the last one. So, I will be breaking everything up into blocks pertaining to these different phases in my own life, starting with my childhood and moving on from there.
I come from a fairly large family, five children, Felicity(1951) being the first born, Charmian(not misspelled) next in 1953 then me(1955,) the first born male, then Myles(1957) my brother and the late surprise, Toni in 1962. My father was called James Maritz, his parents were divorced so following the lineage further becomes a bit iffy. My mother was called Marjorie Lyon and her lineage is a bit easier to trace back to the Macfarlane clan in Scotland. I personally have two children named James, born in 1979 and named after my father, and Shelley, born in 1980 and named after my best friend Tony's lovely wife. Everyone else in the family has had children except Toni, she has the honour of being my children's favourite aunt and they love her like a mother, the one they never really had.
I'm a Christian, not a churchian, someone who believes in God and that Jesus was in fact the Messiah. I've never been one who follows the crowd and prefer to draw my own conclusions, sort of a lone wolf type character. During the course of writing about my life I'll tell you about how God has affected my life and about the times He has revealed Himself to me. Miracles, visions and amazing things.
